In times of universal deceit, telling
the truth is a revolutionary act.
         - George Orwell

Napoleon once observed that "history" is a set of lies agreed upon. In an era of ubiquitous fake news and information warfare, this has never been more true. The very concept of objective truth in history is fading out of our world. Pure propaganda and outright lies are passing into our history textbooks as unquestioned truth, condemning future generations to false views about historical reality. But the task of sifting through the lies and propaganda is overwhelming, limited by the ambition and time constraints of most observors. Only those who have dedicated their lives to sorting reality from falsehood are qualified to rewrite "consensus" history as a duty to humanity. The contributors to this site endeavor to do just that.

Cognitive Infiltration - The New Ministry of Truth

In George Orwell's 1984, government control over people's perceptions of their world is all-encompassing and complete.  News and information is carefully managed to craft public apprehension of their world. Censorship is rife, and even history books are revised and edited to fit current narratives.  Orwell's depiction of perception manipulation was well ahead of its time, but unfortunately, we have entered a world that has far surpassed even his nightmarish scenario.
2017 will go down in history as the year The Ministry of Truth became an overt reality in the West.  Up until now, Google algorithms were essentially neutral, and produced search results based purely on objective criteria of popularity and accessibility.  No one was "judging" the truth of content.  All this changed with the upset election of Donald Trump and the eruption of the Pizzagate scandal.  Faced with the existential threat to their existence, the vast network of criminally corrupt players that make up the Deep State pushed for taking the information war to the next level.

Pressure was place on Google, Facebook and YouTube to get on board with a war against "fake news" - ie. information exposing the criminality of the Deep State, or any news deemed unhelpful to the interests of The-Powers-That-Be.  With compliant CEO's and top staff at these corporations, aware of the gravity of the stakes - particularly if Pizzagate revelations led to the arrests of a third of Congress and the subsequent collapse of the American federal government, not to mention Hollywood - the War on Truth began in earnest as Donald Trump took office.

Teams of thousands of 'Fact-checkers' have been hired to troll the information uploads to these sites, and artificial intelligence has been employed to automate the process.  Anything deemed counter to the official narrative and dangerous to The-Powers-That-Be is now subject to censorship.  Content is being removed faster than the Ministry of Truth could shove past-history down the memory hole in Orwell's 1984.  Advertising is being removed from "politically incorrect" sites, starving unwanted content producers from needed income.

The whole Internet is under attack by a New Ministry of Truth.

If this is all we faced, Truthseekers might stand a chance.  Afterall, alternative platforms could be found or created to share information on the Internet.  But the problem of finding the Truth, and sharing it, is facing a far more insidious threat:  cognitive infiltration.

In 2009, newly annointed President Barack Obama hired Cass Sunstein to run a new government bureau called the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs.  Just months earlier, Sunstein co-authored a paper with Adrian Vermeule titled 'Conspiracy Theories', in which they argued that the spread of conspiracy theories [read: "alternative facts"] posed an existential threat to the US government, as they undermined the government's version of events and the unity of purpose behind American domestic and foreign policy.  The example referred to repeatedly was 9-11, and the spreading meme that members of the US Government were complicit in the attacks.  Anyone spreading such dangerous "lies" were labelled "extremists", subject to the harshest measures of the law.  The best response to this threat, they argued, was "cognitive infiltration" of such "extremist groups."

By "cognitive infiltration" they simply meant obfuscation of alternative theories of the truth.  Individuals and groups challenging official narratives of truth should be infiltrated on the level of belief, by poisoning their positions with disinformation and misinformation.  They would become discredited after falling for "fake news".  Official narratives would survive the assault by sheer predominance; alternative theories challenging official doctrine would be effectively written off as "quack" and "unacademic".

We have been living under this regime of cognitive infiltration for nearly a decade.  Of course, we've had to deal with government propaganda since time immemorial, but with the opening of a full-on government ministry dedicated to propaganda and information warfare, the war for the Truth has taken on a whole new dimension.

Up until recently, 'Truthers' could claim to be winning the war, thanks to the freedom of the Internet and the open nature of debate.  Beliefs and claims may have been "infiltrated," but at least the Truth was "out there", somewhere, to be found.  Now, with overt censorship by the biggest controllers of Internet information, we may not even find the Truth, no matter how hard we look.  The 'Memory Hole' Orwell prophesied is upon us.

Nowhere is this more apparent today than the question of Putin, Trump, and the rush to war.  Mainstream media keeps pushing the narrative that Putin is evil, that Russia interfered in the US election, and that Russia's actions constitute "acts of war."  No evidence is ever forthcoming.  Similarly, the myth that Russia "invaded" the Ukraine persists, and that somehow Crimea needs be be returned to Ukraine for there to be peace in the region, continues to be paraded in Western media as unchallengeable truths.  No "alternative facts" are allowed in the realm of possible debate.  And in Syria, the worst propaganda of all is being pushed on a naive western public.  With nothing to go on except the Big Lie of Assad gassing his own people, repeated ad nauseum by the mainstream media, most people in the West restrict their opinions on what should be done by the United States in response to questions of HOW SOON, not IF, the US should invade the country and remove

Assad. With so many false flags justifying wars behind us, one would think Americans would begin to catch on and learn from history, but the cognitive infiltration is now so rampant that even objectivity-seeking journalists can't break free.  As such, the majority of us are doomed to accept the "official" government narrative, and the next war will receive the adequate mass approval needed to avoid calls for impeachment.

Another propaganda war, another country to bomb to smithereens. War is good for business, and the US has been profiting handsomely for over a century.  With the banking system of the western world at stake this time, we can expect a war commensurate with the threat.  A few Tomahawk missiles, or even mother-of-all-bombs, won't be enough to stem the tide of the collapse of the petro-dollar and the collapse of the financial markets this time.  The Big Banks, Billionaires and Bomb-makers know What is needed to save the System this time, and it ain't pretty.  They're banking on world War III.  And we're all being cognitively infiltrated to accept it, and to blame it on Russia.

We need to fight this narrative with every ounce left of our independent cognitive being.
